Preparing Future Primary School Teachers to Create Digital Content for Teaching Junior School Students

The article actualizes the problem of preparation of future primary school teachers for professional
activity in the conditions of modern digital society. The statements of the representatives of digital humanistic
pedagogy about the main approaches to improving the skills of future teachers in the process of using ICT to
create digital educational content are considered. The main online platforms that help to implement a person
centered approach and build an individual learning trajectory for primary school students, develop motivation,
and solve internal psychological problems are identified and analyzed. It is established that the active use of
online educational platforms, computer music, graphics, and blogs, and computer games contributes to the
formation of future teachers of a high level of professional ability to transform educational content and present
it to young students in an interesting and accessible form. Digital content created by future teachers is used
not only to teach students, but is a means of avoiding didactic formalism, an indicator of the disclosure of the
inner potential of teachers.
According to the results of the research, low, medium, and high level of competence of future primary
school teachers to create digital content for teaching students of grades 1–4 and to carry out the educational
process regardless of their conditions and location is revealed.
The peculiarities of future teacher’ training are highlighted and the main contradictions that are the
driving force for the development of research in the aspect of this issue are identified. Involvement of future
teachers in the creation of digital educational content will open prospects for the implementation of several
pedagogical tasks in the educational process of the new Ukrainian school. To form the ability to acquire new
knowledge, use digital technologies in professional activities. Researchers emphasize that important indicators
of effective implementation of e-learning environment are overcoming technical problems, lack of proper
Internet access, poor equipment of educational institutions and teachers’ willingness to design the educational
process, create innovative digital educational content.
