Abstract

The article examines the problem of education development in the context of the challenges of the
information and digital world. The contradictions of digitalization are compounded by geopolitical tensions
in the world, which have resulted in Ukraine's war against Russian aggression. It is emphasized that in this
situation our country needs competent specialists capable of competitive, purposeful activity. The solution to this problem relies on education, which proves its own importance, provides an opportunity to change the world in  accordance with the needs and desires of people. Therefore, it is necessary to focus the educational process on the achievement of professional competencies that will meet basic needs of people and protect their social status and dignity. For a person to conform to modernity in the economic, political, cultural sense, education must seek new ideas and meanings. This circumstance sets the task of learning originality, uniqueness, independence, which should become the norm. It is shown that in the process of further development of digitalization, people
will increasingly deal with super-intelligent computers, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, nanotechnology,
algorithms that can manipulate knowledge and emotions with supernatural precision. To survive in such a
world, you need high intellectual flexibility, the ability to operate with reserves of knowledge, to have real
competencies. It is noted that today we need to teach not only the achievements of wise predecessors, but
also possible scenarios for the future in which we will have to live. This requires not just knowledge, but the
ability to use it. The modern world is institutionalized so that everyone is forced to follow the path dictated by
digital technology. The role of the teacher is emphasized, who, preparing a competent pupil, student, must be
competent.
