Formation of Health-Developing Competence in Future Police Officers during Training Classes in Special Physical Training

It has been established that the negative conditions of contemporary life – such as unhealthy nutrition, low
levels of physical activity, harmful habits, and increased neuropsychological stress – contribute to a general
decline in public health. In this context, the formation of health-preserving and health-developing competencies
in the younger generation has become a pressing need. This issue is particularly acute for law enforcement
officers, as the proper development of these competencies directly influences their readiness to perform official
duties and effectively cope with the challenges inherent in their profession under modern conditions.
The study identifies special physical training as playing a leading role in promoting the health of future
police officers. The specific features of forming health-developing competence during such training sessions
are outlined. Research findings indicate that the development of this competence involves acquiring skills
related to maintaining and strengthening health, as well as fostering a proactive attitude toward personal well
being.
The paper presents key principles and objectives of special physical training that support the formation of
health-developing competence in future law enforcement professionals. A crucial factor in this process is a
sufficiently high level of motivation. Upon completion of the academic discipline Special Physical Training,
future officers should possess the necessary skills to enhance both physical and mental health, be motivated to
care for their own well-being, lead a healthy lifestyle, and avoid behaviors that negatively impact their health.
Prospects for further research include the development and implementation of effective educational
mechanisms aimed at increasing cadets’ motivation to improve their health – particularly under the conditions
of martial law.
