Components of Ecological Competence in the Content of General Secondary Education

Over the past decades, the phenomenon of competence has gained a valid place in scientific circulation and a significant spread (sometimes justified, sometimes not) in educational practice. It is known that the specified phenomenon has replaced the traditional goal of the educational process for decades, which was content-specifically specified in the form of educational, educational and developmental components. If we critically evaluate the specified paradigmatic innovation, then at the content level we do not see any special meaning, since structurally the components of basic, general and subject competencies practically reflect the previously established goal of the educational process, although, going beyond the boundaries of traditional knowledge, skills and abilities (abbreviated as ZUNs). Meanwhile, one should not break the rules where it is not necessary, but follow the "fashionable" educational trends, if the specified innovation can rightfully be considered a radical educational trend, and not a mechanical change of the signboard. Despite this, be that as it may, if we are already operating with the term "competence" (for those who are not very knowledgeable, please do not confuse it with competence, since a discussion has been going on in pedagogical periodicals for a long time and, perhaps, is still going on in a suppressed state to dilute these two semantically different terms), then it is necessary to logically structure it by types and comprehensively fill each of them with content. As a result, the article adopts a division of competencies into basic, general and subject-specific with the necessary clarification of their content. Against this background, ecological competence and its place in the structure of competencies are considered. The definition of ecological competence is clarified. Various approaches to structuring ecological competence are analyzed. Finally, the knowledge block, the skills block, the moral, aesthetic and volitional blocks of ecological competence are reasonably filled with the corresponding components.
