The article analyzes the problem of forming the fundamental positions of Ukrainian philosophy in the paradigm of methodological principles, ideas and approaches of European philosophy. The importance of taking into account the cultural environment within which the genesis and functioning of philosophical ideas take place is emphasized. It is noted that the problem of giftedness and talent in Ukrainian philosophy is formed throughout historical time, in which three main periods can be distinguished: the first falls on the time of the existence of the Kievan Rus' state, in which philosophical thought is an adequate reflection of the Greco-Slavic, Christian type of culture with its inherent emphasis on the problem of "man – God"; the second period falls on the activities of brotherhoods, the founding of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, in which the ideas of the Western European Renaissance and Reformation were reinterpreted on the basis of the national tradition. The pinnacle of achievement in the field of philosophical thought in Ukraine of this period is the work of Hryhoriі Skovoroda; The third period chronologically covers the 19th – first third of the 20th Century, it is marked primarily by the decisive role played in philosophical life by the culture of romanticism, in which the development of the philosophy of the national idea is initiated. It is shown that within the framework of the romantic type of intellectual culture of thinking, professional philosophical knowledge related to Ukrainian classical literature develops. The significance of the influence on the formation of Ukrainian philosophy of the Aristotelian tradition and hesychasm, a religious and philosophical teaching, which became an important line in the development and formation of Ukrainian philosophical humanism, is noted. It is emphasized that the problems solved by Ukrainian philosophical thought are analogous to the philosophical ideas of Western European thinkers.
