The article covers theoretical issues of the problem of modeling a lesson in primary school. Based on the
analysis of scientific, methodical and encyclopedic literature, the authors carried out a retrospective analysis
of the researched problem and revealed the essential characteristics of the concepts “model”, “modeling”,
“lesson model”, “lesson modeling”. It is noted that the concepts of “lesson modeling” and “lesson design”
have long been used by scientists as synonyms and just recently they began to distinguish them.
In the system of general secondary education, one of the main places is occupied by primary school,
where the foundation of mental, moral and emotional-volitional qualities is laid. The school becomes not
so much a source of information as a place where students learn, and the teacher is not an informant or a
conductor of knowledge, but a person who creates conditions for learning ways of creative activity aimed at
self- acquisition and acquisition of new knowledge. The tendencies of the modern educational process actualize
some forms of behavior and methodical methods of the teacher were desirable, but not obligatory ones. The
goals and content of education, requirements for results are changing; new technical means and technologies
of teaching appear, and the lesson remains the main didactic unit of the educational process, which should
ensure the development of qualities of a primary school graduate that meet the requirements of modern society.
The lesson is a part of the life of a primary school student and a teacher, whose residence should demonstrate
a high universal culture, ensure the formation of value orientations.
The regulations of the New Ukrainian School state that the main focus is on how to organize the activities
of primary school students in the classroom to achieve personal results, development of talents and abilities,
competencies and cross-cutting skills according to their age and individual characteristics.
It is proved that for high-quality professional training of a future teacher to model a lesson in primary
school it is required: general didactic knowledge of laws, principles, main categories, the essence of the
educational process, content, structure, possible forms and methods of its organization; didactic and methodical skills to design lessons in primary school; developed ability to reflexive activity; pedagogical skills. Lesson
modeling will allow the teacher to effectively use the opportunities of each form of learning, choose their
combinations that will ensure high efficiency of educational activities of all students.
