The article provides the results of an empirical study of the peculiarities of the formation of academic
giftedness in children of school age, depending on the state of their adaptation to the educational environment.
The peculiarities of the formation of academic talent were studied by determining the characteristics of groups
of children with low and high levels of academic success. The study establishes a particular importance of
the impact of health on the formation of academic giftedness and its dependence on the potential adaptation
capabilities of the child.
It is emphasized that the result of the realization of the negative complex influence of the educational
environment on the academic giftedness may be a decrease in the child's adaptive capabilities.
According to the results of empirical research, it was found that the most negative factors influencing the
formation of academic giftedness are the reduction of the child’s adaptive capabilities to the conditions of the
educational environment.
During the research, it was established that for academically gifted children, the most characteristic
diseases are diseases of the musculoskeletal system and diseases of the upper parts of the respiratory system in particular, chronic compensated tonsillitis. Diseases of the nervous system and the digestive system are most
characteristic of children with a low level of academic success.
Deepening the cooperation of family doctors, pediatricians, psychologists and teachers will contribute
to more effective implementation of academic giftedness in school-aged children.
The conducted research does not cover all aspects of the investigated problem. The systemic aspect of
the specified problem with the formation of a rating of factors of medical and social influence on the realization
of academic giftedness in school-age children requires special study. It is no less important to coordinate the
effective cooperation of teachers, medical workers and psychologists for adequate support of the development
of children with signs of academic giftedness.
